One of the questions I get asked a lot is “How do you do a turn?”. Here is a short video with one specific example. There are lots of variations and it changes depending on what range you’re in but essentially it’s a fast lip slur. I always try to use the partial breaks of the instrument to do the turn. For this specific example I’m using D in 4th position to allow the partial break to help me do the turn. Enjoy.
