Luke 14:7-24
When invited into the house of a Pharisee for a meal, Jesus tells the parable of the great supper. In fact, it is the third in a series of three parables He shares back to back. They are connected, and it is the reaction of one of the other guests on the first two parables that prompts Him to share the third as well. They contain great lessons and confront us with excuses that we may have in our hearts in response to His invitation.
