A brand new anthem/carol for Matariki - New Year in Aotearoa/New Zealand by Leon Gray!

Hiwa-i-te-rangi is the ninth star of the Matariki (Pleiades) cluster - The star upon which you wish for your dreams and desires to come to fruition in the new year. Also known as the Wishing Star.

Everybody's wishes are different, so the particular wishes of this song are for peace, prosperity, kindness, selflessness, valuing the environment and preserving wildlife; wishes that everybody can have for the world.

This anthem is perfect at community choir concerts, or as part of any Matariki celebration. Like the other works in the series, Hiwa-i-te-rangi tells its own part of the Matariki story and explores the values of this burgeoning holiday on the Kiwi calendar!!
