Yo friends! Time for Day 5 from Editions Bim' s "100 Days of Trumpet Practice" - the first finger technique drill and introduction of Clarke's thrilling Technical Studies, woohoo!
As you can see, with five exercises at this point, you've got a pretty healthy routine of 25-50 minutes.
A number of the exercises in our developing daily routine will address more than one skill, and the Clarke Studies are a great example. This is because we will not only perform them slurred,
but with other articulations (single-, k-, double-tongued, triple-tongued when possible, and optional "jazz" articulation - this last can mean different things to different players; I use a light tongue on the weak beats for this exercise).
As such, while we introduce Clarke’s Technical Study No. 1 as the first exercise for fingers, in fact these studies will serve as a short daily wake-up workout for multiple skills.
To avoid boring you to death, I've condensed the practice video into about a minute ????
