➡️ I've quickly fallen in love with Streetlight Manifesto, but you guys demanded that I go back to where it all started for the band with Catch 22! The band released their debut album in 1998 and apparently, "Keasbey Nights" was one of the most recognized third-wave ska albums of its time. I loved hearing the familiarity of Tomas Kalnoky's songwriting on full display, but delivered with more simplicity and catchiness. I discuss original bassist Josh Ansley's approach to the walking bass lines, how he simplifies the bass parts when needed, his tasteful usage of space and rests, how the band are masters at utilizing dynamic restraint to let each layer shine, why the horn lines are so darn catchy, and much more! ????????????
