➡️ I always assumed Rise Against were a really heavy band, so I was intrigued to hear them after discovering bassist Joe Principe's work with 88 Fingers Louie last year. I fell in love with their song "100 Proof", and our Patreon community voted "Life Less Frightening" to be my first deep dive into the band. I discuss Joe’s chordal bass-playing style, the nuances of his tone, the music theory behind the chord progressions, why the bass-driven bridge is a brilliant songwriting device, and much more. This track was such a stellar introduction to the band, and had me hooked even before the chorus hit! ????
